LA VILLE D’ABIDJAN : DE LA PLANIFICATION AU DESORDRE
Résumé
La ville d’Abidjan connaît une crise d’espace sans précédent. La métropole qui compte plus de 6 millions d’habitants, est devenue un véritable « bazar urbain » au regard des pratiques conventionnelles de l’espace urbain. Si à l’origine, Abidjan a été structurée autour d’un projet urbain articulé à de grandes opérations d’aménagement, d’urbanisme et de logement garantissant une pratique spatiale respectueuse des règles du jeu urbain, aujourd’hui elle combine un certain modèle de ville et une planification urbaine avec un développement anarchique et une détérioration des infrastructures économiques de base et du paysage. La perle des lagunes conserve à bien d’égards les atouts de la ville occidentale, mais le modèle initial, en perpétuelle redéfinition, tend vers un nouvel ordre plus ou moins imposé par les pratiques de l’espace par les citoyens et qui remettent en cause les principes du vivre en ville. Abidjan peut-elle efficacement retrouver son image d'antan ?
Abstract
The city of Abidjan knows a crisis of the unprecedented space. The metropolis which counts more of 6 million inhabitants became a real «urban general store (mess)”towards the conventional practices of the urban space. If originally, Abidjan was structured around an urban project articulated in big operations of arrangement(development), of town planning and accommodation (housing) guaranteeing a respectful spatial practice of the rules of urban the game, today she(it) combines (organizes) certain city model and urban planning with an anarchy development and a deterioration of the economic basic infrastructures and the landscape. The pearl of lagoons keeps (preserves) in a lot of consideration the assets (trump cards) of the western city, but the initial model, in perpetual redefining, aims towards a new order more or less imposed by the practices of the space by the citizens and who question the principles of to live in town. Abidjan can she effectively find her image of former days?
